In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Benton Rangers (Benton, IL) basketball squad felled the visiting Frankfort Redbirds (West Frankfort, IL), by a margin of 46-38.
The Rangers (13-15) will now prepare for their outing against Pinckneyville (Pinckneyville, IL). The Panthers go into the Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi outing with a 16-10 record. In their last outing, Pinckneyville was beaten by Nashville (Nashville, IL), 60-34, in a league outing.
The Redbirds now own a 3-25 record. They play next when they host Anna-Jonesboro for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi outing on Thursday, February 1. Frankfort will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 61-42 league loss to DuQuoin (DuQuoin, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-22.
