The Chincoteague Ponies (Chincoteague, VA) basketball nipped the host Northampton Yellowjackets (Eastville, VA), 29-27 in Tuesday's league test.
The Ponies (6-5) will now prepare for their test against Arcadia (Oak Hall, VA). The Firebirds go into the Eastern Shore test with a 5-11 record. In their last test, Arcadia was tipped by Decatur (Berlin, MD), 53-9, in a non-league test.
The Yellowjackets now own a 0-13 record. They play next when they host King & Queen Central for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 31. Northampton will encounter a Royal Tigers squad coming off a 41-22 non-league loss to Colonial Beach (Colonial Beach, VA). The Royal Tigers record now stands at 7-7.
