In Tuesday's league match, the host Independence Wildcats basketball team scored a decisive 64-21 triumph over the Coahoma County Red Panthers.
In their next game, the Wildcats meet the North Panola Cougars (Sardis, MS) in a 3A Region 2 match, on Friday, February 2. Independence will attempt to better on its 19-4 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 14-5 record after their 59-42 league win over Rosa Fort (Tunica, MS).
With the defeat, Coahoma County moves to 14-13 on the year. The Red panthers travel to Holly Springs (Holly Springs, MS) to meet the Hawks in a 3A Region 2 match on Friday, February 2. The Hawks enter the match with a record of 4-14.
