The Hammond Tornadoes (Hammond, LA) basketball crushed the host Covington Lions (Covington, LA), 53-29 in Tuesday's league test.

The Tornadoes (13-12) will now prepare for their test against Northshore (Slidell, LA). The Panthers go into the 5A District 6 test with a 20-10 record. In their last test, Northshore walloped Edna Karr (New Orleans, LA), 66-53, in a non-league test.

The Lions now own a 8-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Slidell for a 5A District 6 contest on Thursday, February 1. Covington will meet a Tigers team coming off a 64-59 league loss to Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 16-5.
