The Emerson Mavericks basketball team (McKinney, TX), was nudged 41-34 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Walnut Grove Wildcats (Prosper, TX)
The Wildcats now possess a 17-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Liberty for a 5A Region II District 10 battle on Friday, February 2. Walnut Grove will confront a Redhawks team coming off a 49-18 league win over Heritage (Frisco, TX). The Redhawks record now stands at 25-7.
The Mavericks (14-14) will now prepare for their battle against Independence (Frisco, TX). The Knights come into the 5A Region II District 10 battle with a 1-25 record. In their last battle, Independence was nudged by Centennial (Frisco, TX), 36-25, in a league battle.
