Seventy-First Falcons (Fayetteville, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC), 53-40 in a league bout.
With the win, Seventy-First upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Falcons host Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC) to play the Colts in a 3A/4A United 8 bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Colts go into the bout with a record of 15-1. Cape Fear won 75-23 in their recent league bout against Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC)
Next up, the Bears play the Douglas Byrd Eagles (Fayetteville, NC) in a 3A/4A United 8 bout, on Friday, February 2. Gray's Creek will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 2-15 record after their 46-32 league loss to South View (Hope Mills, NC).
