Gretna East Griffins (Gretna, NE) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Waverly Vikings (Waverly, NE), 58-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gretna East upgrades its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Griffins host Lincoln Southwest (Lincoln, NE) to play the Silver Hawks in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Silver Hawks come into the bout with a record of 14-3. Lincoln Southwest won 62-42 in their recent league bout against Lincoln Northeast (Lincoln, NE)

Next up, the Vikings play the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers (Wahoo, NE) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 1. Waverly will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Cavaliers come into the bout with a 14-3 record after their 58-23 non-league loss to Lincoln Christian (Lincoln, NE).
