Iowa High School Basketball - Marion knocked off by Mt. Vernon

The Mt. Vernon Mustangs basketball team scored 46 points and held the host Marion Wolves to 32 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Mustangs now sport a 17-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Solon for a WAMAC - East contest on Friday, February 2. Mt. Vernon will meet a Spartans team coming off a 70-41 league win over West Delaware (Manchester, IA). The Spartans record now stands at 15-3.
The Wolves (13-5) will now prepare for their contest against Independence (Independence, IA). The Mustangs enter the WAMAC - West game with a 3-15 record. In their last game, Independence lost by Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA), 54-41, in a league game.
