The Taylorville Tornadoes basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the visiting Mattoon Greenwave to 39 in the Tornadoes league victory on Tuesday.

The Tornadoes now sport a 21-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mahomet-Seymour for a Apollo contest on Friday, February 2. Taylorville will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 74-24 non-league loss to Lincoln (Lincoln, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-16.

The Greenwave (18-7) will now prepare for their contest against Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL). The Braves come into the Apollo contest with a 17-10 record. In their last contest, Mt. Zion was routed by Glenwood (Chatham, IL), 47-27, in a non-league contest.
