McGehee Owls (McGehee, AR) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Smackover Buckaroos (Smackover, AR), 56-14 in a league bout.

With the win, McGehee upgrades its record to 14-7 on the season. The Owls host Drew Central (Monticello, AR) to clash with the Pirates in a 3A Region 8 bout on Friday, February 2. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 13-5. Drew Central lost 60-35 in their recent league bout against Dumas (Dumas, AR)

Next up, the Buckaroos clash with the Harmony Grove Hornets (Camden, AR) in a 3A Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Smackover will attempt to upgrade on its 3-17 season record.
