Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic (Flourtown, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears (Merion Station, PA), 52-14 in a league bout.

With the win, Mt. St. Joseph Academy improves its record to 6-13 on the campaign. The Magic travel to Gwynedd Mercy Academy (Gwynedd Valley, PA) to confront the Monarchs in a Catholic Academies challenge on Thursday, February 1. The Monarchs come into the challenge with a record of 16-3. Gwynedd Mercy Academy won 47-34 in their recent league challenge against Villa Joseph Marie (Holland, PA)

Next up, the Golden Bears confront the Villa Maria Academy Hurricanes (Malvern, PA) in a Catholic Academies challenge, on Thursday, February 1. Merion Mercy Academy will attempt to improve on its 3-14 season record. The Hurricanes come into the challenge with a 11-7 record after their 27-26 non-league loss to Pennridge (Perkasie, PA).
