Newberry Bulldogs (Newberry, SC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Saluda Tigers (Saluda, SC), 46-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Newberry upgrades its record to 7-11 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Mid-Carolina (Prosperity, SC) to play the Rebels in a AA Region 2 bout on Friday, February 2. The Rebels go into the bout with a record of 14-3. Mid-Carolina lost 39-34 in their recent league bout against Ninety Six (Ninety Six, SC)

Next up, the Tigers play the Ninety Six Wildcats (Ninety Six, SC) in a AA Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Saluda will attempt to upgrade on its 12-3 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 11-5 record after their 49-21 league win over Abbeville (Abbeville, SC).
