West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Wilton Beavers (Wilton, IA), 49-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, West Liberty upgrades its record to 5-11 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Durant (Durant, IA) to play the Wildcats in a River Valley - South bout on Friday, February 2. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 7-12. Durant lost 56-35 in their recent non-league bout against Calamus-Wheatland (Wheatland, IA)

Next up, the Beavers play the Alburnett Pirates (Alburnett, IA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 1. Wilton will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 7-12 record after their 47-33 league loss to Springville (Springville, IA).
