The Lumberton Pirates basketball team scored 42 points and held the visiting Jack Britt Buccaneers to 39 in the Pirates league triumph on Tuesday.
The Pirates now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South View for a contest on Thursday, February 1. Lumberton will battle a Tigers team coming off a 52-12 non-league loss to Seventy-First (Fayetteville, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 1-5.
The Buccaneers (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC). The Rams enter the non-league contest with a 4-6 record. In their last contest, Purnell Swett was nudged by Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC), 44-35, in a non-league contest.
