San Dieguito Academy Mustangs (Encinitas, CA) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host La Costa Canyon Mavericks (Carlsbad, CA), 3-2 in a league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs face the Oceanside Pirates (Oceanside, CA) in a Coastal (NCC) challenge, on Thursday, February 1. San Dieguito Academy will attempt to better on its 6-10 season record. The Pirates enter the challenge with a 11-1 record after their 2-2 league Carlsbad (Carlsbad, CA).

The Mavericks now have a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they host Torrey Pines for a Coastal (NCC) challenge on Thursday, February 1. La Costa Canyon will face a Falcons team coming off a 1-1 league Carlsbad (Carlsbad, CA). The Falcons record now stands at 7-5.
