In Thursday's league contest, the host Buckfield Bucks basketball team scored a big 78-56 triumph over the Pine Tree Academy Breakers.

The Bucks (9-9) will now prepare for their contest against Wiscasset (Wiscasset, ME). The Wolverines go into the D South contest with a 11-4 record. In their last contest, Wiscasset smashed Searsport (Searsport, ME), 64-43, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Breakers confront the Temple Academy Bereans (Waterville, ME) in a D South contest, on Saturday, February 1. Pine Tree Academy will attempt to better on its 10-8 season record. The Bereans go into the contest with a 6-11 record after their 51-35 non-league loss to Carrabec (North Anson, ME).
