The Mathews Blue Devils basketball team scored 63 points and limited the visiting Carver College and Career Academy Wolverines to 36 in the Blue Devils league triumph on Thursday.

The Blue Devils now possess a 12-6 record. They play next when they travel to Gloucester for a non-league game on Saturday, February 1. Mathews will confront a Dukes team coming off a 59-39 league loss to Warwick (Newport News, VA). The Dukes record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, Carver College and Career Academy falls to 1-12 on the campaign. The Wolverines host King & Queen Central (King & Queen Court House, VA) to confront the Royal Tigers in a Tidewater game on Friday, January 31. The Royal Tigers go into the game with a record of 5-8. King & Queen Central lost 70-57 in their recent league game against King William (King William, VA)
