The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Holston Cavaliers (Damascus, VA) and the visiting J.I. Burton Black Raiders (Norton, VA), observed Holston's basketball team edge J.I. Burton by a score of 37-36.

The Cavaliers (10-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Honaker (Honaker, VA). The Tigers come into the Hogoheegee challenge with a 1-16 record. In their last challenge, Honaker was tipped by Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA), 74-35, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Black Raiders encounter the Thomas Walker Pioneers (Ewing, VA) in a Cumberland challenge, on Friday, January 31. J.I. Burton will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 2-14 record after their 61-52 non-league loss to Clinch (Eidson, TN).
