In Thursday's league contest, the visiting Maple River Eagles basketball team scored a close 62-55 triumph over the Sibley East Wolverines.

The Eagles (14-11) will now prepare for their contest against Sargent County (Milnor, ND). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 2-8 record. In their last contest, Sargent County nipped Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] (Rosholt, SD), 67-42, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Wolverines battle the St. Clair Cyclones (St. Clair, MN) in a AA Section 2 contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Sibley East will attempt to better on its 6-11 season record. The Cyclones go into the contest with a 8-13 record after their 72-40 league loss to Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (Janesville, MN).
