Illinois High School Basketball - Monmouth United victorious over Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]

In Thursday's league contest, the host Monmouth United Red Storm basketball team scored a good 58-49 triumph over the Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans.

The Red Storm (13-10) will now prepare for their contest against Wethersfield (Kewanee, IL). The Flying Geese go into the Lincoln Trail contest with a 6-16 record. In their last contest, Wethersfield was toppled by Bureau Valley (Manlius, IL), 81-31, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Spartans confront the Knoxville Blue Bullets (Knoxville, IL) in a Lincoln Trail contest, on Friday, January 31. Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] will attempt to better on its 10-13 season record. The Blue Bullets go into the contest with a 0-22 record after their 66-40 non-league loss to Bushnell-Prairie City (Bushnell, IL).
