The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Altoona Railroaders (Altoona, WI) and the host Ellsworth Panthers (Ellsworth, WI), observed Altoona's basketball team knock off Ellsworth by a score of 55-40.

The Railroaders (8-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Prescott (Prescott, WI). The Cardinals come into the Middle Border challenge with a 8-9 record. In their last challenge, Prescott dropped by McDonell Central (Chippewa Falls, WI), 74-67, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Panthers clash with the Mondovi Buffaloes (Mondovi, WI) in a non-league test, on Monday, February 3. Ellsworth will attempt to improve on its 6-11 season record. The Buffaloes come into the test with a 13-6 record after their 65-32 league win over Spring Valley (Spring Valley, WI).
