Michigan High School Basketball - Mendon holds off Athens

January 30, 2025: Mendon, MI 49072

The Mendon Hornets basketball team scored 41 points and limited the visiting Athens Indians to 38 in the Hornets league triumph on Thursday.

The Hornets now have a 5-7 record. They play next when they travel to Howardsville Christian for a non-league game on Monday, February 3. Mendon will confront a Eagles team coming off a 30-13 league loss to Michigan Lutheran (St. Joseph, MI). The Eagles record now stands at 1-11.

With the loss, Athens falls to 4-10 on the campaign. The Indians host Burr Oak (Burr Oak, MI) to confront the Bobcats in a Southern Central game on Tuesday, February 4. The Bobcats go into the game with a record of 8-3. Burr Oak 0-0 in their recent non-league game against Decatur (Decatur, MI)
