Illinois High School Basketball - Carrollton held off by Marquette Catholic

In Thursday's non-league test, the Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) basketball squad got by the host Carrollton Hawks (Carrollton, IL), by a score of 52-51.

Next, the Explorers encounter the Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL) in a Gateway Metro test, on Monday, February 3. Marquette Catholic will attempt to improve on its 12-9 season record. The Knights come into the test with a 2-22 record after their 54-22 non-league loss to Beardstown (Beardstown, IL).

The Hawks (19-7) will now prepare for their test against Nokomis (Nokomis, IL). The Redskins come into the non-league test with a 21-4 record. In their last test, Nokomis was nipped by Calhoun/Brussels (Hardin, IL), 40-34, in a non-league test.
