The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Joliet Central Steelmen (Joliet, IL) and the host Joliet West Tigers (Joliet, IL), observed Joliet Central's basketball team edge Joliet West by a score of 56-51.

The Steelmen (11-16) will now prepare for their challenge against Plainfield East (Plainfield, IL). The Bengals come into the SouthWest Prairie - East challenge with a 4-21 record. In their last challenge, Plainfield East edged Romeoville (Romeoville, IL), 54-46, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Normal Community Ironmen (Normal, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 1. Joliet West will attempt to improve on its 4-19 season record.
