The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Hazleton Area Cougars (Hazleton, PA) and the visiting Pittston Patriots (Pittston, PA), observed Hazleton Area's basketball team knock off Pittston by a score of 52-38.

The Cougars (13-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA). The Spartans come into the challenge with a 1-1 record.

In their next game, the Patriots encounter the Dallas Mountaineers (Dallas, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 3. Pittston will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.
