The Cougars (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, CA). The Dons come into the challenge with a 0-11 record. In their last challenge, Santa Barbara dropped by Dos Pueblos (Goleta, CA), 24-23, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans encounter the Oxnard Yellowjackets (Oxnard, CA) in a challenge, on Saturday, February 1. Rio Mesa will attempt to improve on its 7-16 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 5-1 record after their 43-36 league loss to Buena (Ventura, CA).
