The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) and the visiting Kingsford Flivvers (Kingsford, MI), witnessed Negaunee's ice hockey team nip Kingsford by a final score of 6-5.

The Miners (5-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Calumet (Calumet, MI). The Copper Kings come into the Great Lakes challenge with a 8-12 record. In their last challenge, Calumet was nipped by Plymouth (Canton, MI), 5-4, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Flivvers battle the Jeffers Jets (Painesdale, MI) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Kingsford will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Jets come into the challenge with a 14-3 record after their 4-2 non-league loss to Mott (Waterford, MI).
