In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Cadillac Vikings basketball team scored a close 66-59 triumph over the Sault Area Blue Devils.

The Vikings (6-7) will now prepare for their match against Petoskey (Petoskey, MI). The Northmen enter the Big North match with a 10-5 record. In their last match, Petoskey got by Gaylord (Gaylord, MI), 51-40, in a league match.

The Blue Devils now sport a 2-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Traverse City West for a non-league match on Saturday, January 31. Sault Area will face a Titans squad coming off a 71-46 league win over Cadillac (Cadillac, MI). The Titans record now stands at 7-4.
