Sunbright Tigers (Sunbright, TN) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Midway Green Wave (Kingston, TN), 52-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sunbright upgrades its record to 17-1 on the season. The Tigers host Coalfield (Coalfield, TN) to clash with the Yellowjackets in a 1A District 3 bout on Friday, February 4. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 16-5.

Next up, the Green Wave clash with the Greenback Cherokees (Greenback, TN) in a 1A District 4 bout, on Friday, February 4. Midway will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record. The Cherokees go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 56-21 non-league win over Clayton-Bradley Academy (Maryville, TN).
