New London Whalers (New London, CT) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Waterford Lancers (Waterford, CT), 54-40 in a non-league bout.
With the win, New London upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Whalers travel to East Lyme (East Lyme, CT) to clash with the Vikings in a Eastern Connecticut - 1 bout on Friday, February 4. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 4-10. East Lyme lost 27-19 in their recent non-league bout against Killingly (Killingly, CT)
Next up, the Lancers clash with the Stonington Bears (Stonington, CT) in a Eastern Connecticut - 2 bout, on Thursday, February 3. Waterford will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 41-32 non-league win over St. Bernard (Uncasville, CT).
