The Augusta Southeastern Suns (Augusta, IL) basketball nipped the visiting Brown County Hornets (Mt. Sterling, IL), 60-54 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Suns (20-5) will now prepare for their test against Mendon Unity (Mendon, IL). The Mustangs go into the West Central test with a 9-15 record. In their last test, Mendon Unity got by North Greene (White Hall, IL), 66-39, in a non-league test.

The Hornets now own a 18-8 record. They play next when they travel to Pittsfield for a non-league test on Friday, February 3. Brown County will encounter a Saukees squad coming off a 45-43 non-league win over Seymour (Payson, IL). The Saukees record now stands at 8-13.
