Barringer Blue Bears (Newark, NJ) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Newark Academy Minutemen (Livingston, NJ), 57-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Barringer upgrades its record to 6-11 on the season. The Blue Bears host West Orange (West Orange, NJ) to play the Mountaineers in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 2. The Mountaineers go into the bout with a record of 9-6. West Orange lost 51-41 in their recent non-league bout against Science Park (Newark, NJ)

Next up, the Minutemen play the Irvington Blue Knights (Irvington, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 4. Newark Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Blue Knights go into the bout with a 17-4 record after their 76-72 league win over University (Newark, NJ).
