The Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA) basketball knocked off the host Martinsville Bulldogs (Martinsville, VA), 57-45 in Tuesday's league test.
The Bengals (12-8) will now prepare for their test against Halifax County (South Boston, VA). The Comets go into the Piedmont test with a 5-14 record. In their last test, Halifax County went down by George Washington (Danville, VA), 50-44, in a league test.
The Bulldogs now own a 8-11 record. They play next when they travel to Magna Vista for a Piedmont test on Thursday, February 2. Martinsville will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 69-66 league win over Mecklenburg County (Baskerville, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 6-14.
