North Carolina High School Basketball - Covenant Day nips Charlotte Latin

January 31, 2023: Matthews, NC 28105

Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Charlotte Latin Hawks (Charlotte, NC), 55-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Covenant Day upgrades its record to 13-13 on the campaign. The Lions host Providence Day (Charlotte, NC) to play the Chargers in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent bout on Friday, February 3. The Chargers come into the bout with a record of 16-11. Providence Day won 55-46 in their recent league bout against Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Hawks play the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers (Charlotte, NC) in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent bout, on Friday, February 3. Charlotte Latin will attempt to upgrade on its 12-9 season record. The Buccaneers come into the bout with a 17-11 record after their 83-70 league loss to Cannon (Concord, NC).
