Holmes Aces (Edenton, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Currituck County Knights (Barco, NC), 63-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, Holmes upgrades its record to 9-12 on the campaign. The Aces host First Flight (Kill Devil Hills, NC) to play the Nighthawks in a 2A/3A Conference 15 bout on Friday, February 3. The Nighthawks come into the bout with a record of 12-8. First Flight lost 84-71 in their recent league bout against Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC)

Next up, the Knights play the Pasquotank County Panthers (Elizabeth City, NC) in a 2A/3A Conference 15 bout, on Friday, February 3. Currituck County will attempt to upgrade on its 7-12 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 6-13 record after their 63-51 league loss to Manteo (Manteo, NC).
