Texas High School Basketball - George West overwhelmed by Taft

The George West Longhorns basketball team (George West, TX), was routed 58-32 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX)

The Greyhounds now sport a 9-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Aransas Pass for a 3A Region IV District 29 battle on Friday, February 3. Taft will battle a Panthers team coming off a 71-36 league win over Goliad (Goliad, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 16-13.

Next up, the Longhorns clash with the Mathis Pirates (Mathis, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 29 bout, on Friday, February 3. George West will attempt to upgrade on its 13-17 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 12-18 record after their 58-42 league loss to Odem (Odem, TX).
