The Grulla Gators basketball team (Rio Grande City, TX), was toppled 57-43 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Port Isabel Tarpons (Port Isabel, TX)
The Tarpons now possess a 24-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hidalgo for a 4A Region IV District 32 battle on Friday, February 3. Port Isabel will confront a Pirates team coming off a 66-6 league win over Harmony School of Innovation (Brownsville, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 10-15.
The Gators (8-14) will now prepare for their battle against Zapata (Zapata, TX). The Hawks come into the 4A Region IV District 32 battle with a 10-11 record. In their last battle, Zapata beat Raymondville (Raymondville, TX), 62-60, in a league battle.
