Hardin-Jefferson Hawks (Sour Lake, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hargrave Falcons (Huffman, TX), 45-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Hardin-Jefferson upgrades its record to 24-5 on the season. The Hawks travel to Liberty (Liberty, TX) to play the Panthers in a 4A Region III District 20 bout on Friday, February 3. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 11-18. Liberty won 52-47 in their recent league bout against Splendora (Splendora, TX)

Next up, the Falcons play the Livingston Lions (Livingston, TX) in a 4A Region III District 20 bout, on Friday, February 3. Hargrave will attempt to upgrade on its 16-11 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 10-18 record after their 78-68 league loss to Hamshire-Fannett (Hamshire, TX).
