Southland Academy Raiders (Americus, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Terrell Academy Eagles (Dawson, GA), 56-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Southland Academy upgrades its record to 17-4 on the season. The Raiders travel to Brookwood (Thomasville, GA) to play the Warriors in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 bout on Friday, February 3. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 18-5. Brookwood won 51-46 in their recent league bout against Deerfield-Windsor (Albany, GA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Valwood Valiants (Valdosta, GA) in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 bout, on Friday, February 3. Terrell Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 12-10 season record. The Valiants go into the bout with a 10-9 record after their 82-49 league win over Tiftarea Academy (Chula, GA).
