The Hayfield Hawks (Alexandria, VA) basketball knocked off the host Lewis Lancers (Springfield, VA), 40-20 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Hawks (5-1) will now prepare for their outing against Mount Vernon (Alexandria, VA). The Majors go into the non-league outing with a 5-5 record. In their last outing, Mount Vernon was beaten by Edison (Alexandria, VA), 14-11, in a non-league outing.
The Lancers now own a 1-8 record. They play next when they travel to Edison for a non-league outing on Friday, February 3. Lewis will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 14-11 non-league win over Mount Vernon (Alexandria, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-3.
