Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Black River Rats (Holland, MI) and the host North Muskegon Norsemen (North Muskegon, MI), saw Black River's basketball squad hold off North Muskegon by a tally of 34-30.

With the victory, Black River improves its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Rats travel to Kellogg (Delton, MI) to play the Panthers in a Southwestern - Valley challenge on Friday, February 3. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 3-9.

Next up, the Norsemen play the Shelby Tigers (Shelby, MI) in a Western Michigan challenge, on Thursday, February 2. North Muskegon will attempt to improve on its 4-11 season record.
