The Emerson Waldorf Gnomes (Chapel Hill, NC) basketball nipped the host Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors (Durham, NC), 43-40 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Gnomes (6-3) will now prepare for their test against Carolina Mustangs (Durham, NC). The Mustangs go into the non-league test with a 10-6 record. In their last test, Carolina Mustangs got by Bradford Academy (Mebane, NC), 48-31, in a non-league test.

The Mighty Warriors now own a 1-8 record. They play next when they travel to Wayne Preparatory Academy for a CAASC Tri-Capital test on Friday, February 3. Mount Zion Christian Academy will encounter a Generals squad coming off a 46-37 non-league win over Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC). The Generals record now stands at 8-8.
