Nottoway Cougars (Nottoway, VA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA), 37-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Nottoway upgrades its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA) to play the Statesmen in a James River bout on Friday, February 3. The Statesmen come into the bout with a record of 0-17.

Next up, the Eagles play the Amelia County Raiders (Amelia Court House, VA) in a James River bout, on Friday, February 3. Prince Edward County will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record. The Raiders come into the bout with a 7-10 record after their 43-29 league loss to Buckingham (Buckingham, VA).
