In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) basketball squad beat the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), by a margin of 47-34.
The Pioneers (13-6) will now prepare for their outing against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers go into the non-league outing with a 9-7 record. In their last outing, Hibriten defeated Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 56-53, in a non-league outing.
The Cougars now own a 14-3 record. They play next when they host South Caldwell for a non-league outing on Friday, February 3. Alexander Central will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 53-49 non-league loss to Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 6-9.
