East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 51-19 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Wilkes upgrades its record to 14-5 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC) to play the Granite Bears in a bout on Thursday, February 2. The Granite Bears go into the bout with a record of 3-14. Mount Airy lost 48-30 in their recent non-league bout against Surry Central (Dobson, NC)

Next up, the Trojans play the Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 3. Alleghany will attempt to upgrade on its 0-13 season record. The Buckin' Elks go into the bout with a 8-11 record after their 40-32 non-league loss to Surry Central (Dobson, NC).
