The Ashe County Huskies basketball team (West Jefferson, NC), was nudged 56-53 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC)

The Panthers now sport a 9-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Watauga for a non-league battle on Friday, February 3. Hibriten will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 47-34 non-league win over Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 13-6.

The Huskies (6-11) will now prepare for their battle against Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Wildcats come into the non-league battle with a 5-10 record.
