Salem Spartans (Salem, VA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Cave Spring Knights (Roanoke, VA), 59-58 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Salem upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Glenvar (Salem, VA) to play the Highlanders in a non-league bout on Friday, February 3. The Highlanders come into the bout with a record of 9-9. Glenvar won 46-39 in their recent non-league bout against Floyd County (Floyd, VA)

Next up, the Knights play the Pulaski County Cougars (Dublin, VA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 2. Cave Spring will attempt to advance on its 3-10 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 14-5 record after their 61-43 non-league win over Blacksburg (Blacksburg, VA).
