Virginia High School Basketball - Indian River knocked off by Hickory

The Hickory Hawks basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Indian River Braves to 35 in the Hawks non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hawks now sport a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Booker T. Washington for a non-league contest on Wednesday, February 1. Hickory will meet a Mighty Bookers team coming off a 44-42 non-league win over Norview (Norfolk, VA). The Mighty Bookers record now stands at 4-7.

The Braves (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA). The Bruins enter the non-league contest with a 8-2 record. In their last contest, Western Branch ran past Great Bridge (Chesapeake, VA), 70-61, in a non-league contest.
