Varsity Opponent (, ) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Garden Griffins (Jackson Heights, NY), 71-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Varsity Opponent upgrades its record to 351-1258 on the season. The travel to Hart County (Munfordville, KY) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 1. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 10-7. Hart County lost 58-49 in their recent non-league bout against Taylor County (Campbellsville, KY)

Next up, the Griffins play the Irwin Knights (New York, NY) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 1. Garden will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 76-56 non-league loss to Luther (Maspeth, NY).
