The Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH) basketball nipped the host Harrison Central Huskies (Cadiz, OH), 66-62 in Wednesday's league test.

The Purple Riders (10-4) will now prepare for their test against Steubenville (Steubenville, OH). The Big Red go into the Ohio Valley AAAAA test with a 7-9 record.

The Huskies now own a 14-3 record. They play next when they host Beaver for a Buckeye 8 test on Tuesday, February 6. Harrison Central will encounter a Beavers squad coming off a 70-43 non-league win over Oak Glen (New Cumberland, WV). The Beavers record now stands at 9-10.
